  A true reflection of South Africa - This book managed to capture the true ordinary things we as South Africans enjoy. A lot of people try to write in anticipation of what they think foreigners or readers would ... read more want to read but this book captures the real deal… and we can all resonate with it… whether you are the person reading the book to a child or the child listing… any South African person who reads this book overseas will get a tear in their eyes and miss home. It also encompasses how diverse our country can be with all its different cultures. BUT what fascinates me most is Bev’s talent to write poetry so beautifully. Everything just flows into each other.   If you were not told that this is a debut, it would be hard to imagine this to be true. You would swear that she is a seasonal author. The stories she wrote are meant for children, but ... read more this resonates with children of all ages. You have to read this book to believe what I am saying. The chapter that appealed to me most was “Oceans” she has a way with words. She was born a writer, all I had to do was encourage her to put pen to paper. Her hidden talent came to the fore.
